New host and the weekend

Looks like almost all of the DNS has propogated out and we're up and running on the new servers. I'm excited because they are cheaper, hosted at Internap's data center in Boston, and offer more features. I will miss the old vbb forum of Futurequest which provided great support and a CTO who was practically a one man show married to his wife and job. I just hope I'll be able to recieve comparable service and support here at FluidHosting.

On Saturday we spent hours completing the wedding gift registry stuff. We spent 3 hours in linens and things only to leave with a nonexistent list that accidentally got combined with the previous couple's list. The lady promised to manually key everything in for us, Sunday morning that wasn't the case but today Kris checked and everything is there. I'm glad it worked out.

Last night was rather crappy, I got paged starting at 2am regarding some problems with our cartloaders (devices which take bundles of newspapers and place them in carts that get ejected). Apparently they were having a lot of trouble but I couldn't get ahold of anyone for 30-45 minutes which pissed me off. Finally I got ahold of someone who told me that they rebooted the machine and it went away. Got paged again at 3am with same problem but I couldn't get ahold of anyone so I sent out a mail and went back to bed.

Our pagination system vendor is in town this week. I haven't been working much with them over the past year or two but I've got great ties with the guys from Denmark. We're going to hook up tomorrow evening for dinner and pool (I suck at pool). I absolutely love working and hanging out with them.

Of course I like any small bit of change that comes my way as long as it is good.
