Toys
For some reason I've been wanting new toys besides the ones at Christmas. A friend is sending me a Soekris 4501 box that will run embsd and most likely take over my firewall's duties. It's basically a tiny 486 DX 133 with 3 ethernet ports, serial, and a compact pci slot for either wireless or a crypto accelerator. This will free up my 400mhz HP Kayak workstation allowing me to do much cooler things with its horsepower. I bought a stick of 128mb of memory for it off of Ebay today to give it a little more oomph.
As an aside, I really need to dig more into coding some stuff to keep my mind busy instead of all these nifty hardware gadgets. All these things are cluttering the place worse.
House is a mess, must clean before junk swallows me whole.
