Writers Make a Publication What It Is.
A person at work who was responsible for posting breaking news and other news during the day to our website has decided to pursue another opportunity so I went to his send-off.
We discussed many things including how other newspapers (Hartford Courant perhaps) view that they make the writers and copy editors who they are. To put it bluntly, it's bullshit. Media organizations don't understand how critical it is to have great staff who project the image of information and truth to those who need to be informed.
Those who fail to realize this and change with the times will be left behind, especially as alternative mediums of communication evolve such as blogging.
